Who is the training aimed at?
Our WSET level 1 and 2 Award in wine with LTE certification are designed for beginners, amateurs or professionals, wishing to acquire a solid foundation in wine and tasting in English. You will be prepared to work in the wine sector in English. This program is also aimed at people who wish to undertake a professional transition to the wine sector.
Objectives and program
During this course you will: - Acquire in-depth and precise knowledge of major local and international grape varieties, as well as the world’s key wine regions. - Learn how to present, describe, and sell a wine to English-speaking clients. - Master the essential English vocabulary used by wine professionals: viticulture, winemaking, tasting and sales. - Gain confidence in speaking and writing to clients in English. - Learn how to explain labelling terms related to wines. - Describe a wine in English using the WSET Level 2 Systematic Approach to Tasting. - The course is delivered 100% in English and is suitable for learners with a B2 to C2 level. This training is designed to develop your oral and written language skills, including: - Identifying and using vocabulary appropriate to professional contexts in the wine industry - Using key grammatical structures to build coherent sentences of varying complexity - Understanding short texts and identifying both general meaning and specific details - Understanding spoken statements, instructions, or questions from an interlocutor - Communicating in social-professional, professional, or industry-specific situations using appropriate expressions - Holding a conversation on a professional topic - Communicating naturally and enhancing oral interaction - Being understood through clear pronunciation
The structure of the course
The WSET Level 1 and 2 Wine courses with LTE consists of a total of 9 weeks (4 and 5 weeks respectively) of online learning. Your WSET teaching materials will be provided prior to the start of each course. These include a study-book for Level 1, an e-book for Level 2, tasting kits for each course, tasting grids, and self-assessment exercises. For Level 2, we recommend a minimum of 12 hours of personal study in addition to the online course to make the most of your training. Your WSET exams can be taken online, at the date and time of your choice (week-ends included, excluding UK bank holidays). It can also be taken in person (in Paris or Marseille). The exam consists of a 45-minutes theory test with 30 multiple-choice questions for Level 1, and of a 1-hour theory test with 50 multiple-choice questions for Level 2. If you prefer to take the exam in person, we will provide a 6-month calendar of exam dates, allowing you to choose the one that best fits your progress and study pace. Registrations close 10 working days before the start of each session. Your LTE English test is taken online and must be completed within two months after the end of your training. It is essential to complete your LTE English test before registering for the WSET exam.
Assessments and certificates
Completion of all three components of the LTE 4 Skills certification is mandatory within 30 days following the end of the training. By registering, you commit to completing all four parts of the assessment: Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing (2.5-hour test).

You must be 18 years old on the day of training. Registrations close 10 working days before the start date of the session.
