Who is the training aimed at?
The WSET level 1 training in beers with LTE certification is designed for novices who are new to beers and wish to discover the English vocabulary of zythology. This bilingual WSET 1 training day in English with LTE certification offers a first practical approach to the world of beers for amateurs as well as for people wishing to find a first job in the sector.
Objectives and program
During this course you will: - Acquire in-depth and precise knowledge of major international beer styles, as well as the world’s key brewing regions. - Learn how to present, describe, and sell a beer to English-speaking clients. - Master the essential English vocabulary used by beer professionals and zythologists, including ingredients, brewing methods, tasting and sales. - Gain confidence in speaking and writing to clients in English. - Learn how to explain labelling terms related to beers. - Describe a beer in English using the WSET Level 1 Systematic Approach to Tasting. - The course is delivered 100% in English and is suitable for learners with a B2 to C2 level. This training is designed to develop your oral and written language skills, including: - Identifying and using vocabulary appropriate to professional contexts in the beer industry - Using key grammatical structures to build coherent sentences of varying complexity - Understanding short texts and identifying both general meaning and specific details - Understanding spoken statements, instructions, or questions from an interlocutor - Communicating in social-professional, professional, or industry-specific situations using appropriate expressions - Holding a conversation on a professional topic - Communicating naturally and enhancing oral interaction - Being understood through clear pronunciation
The structure of the course
The WSET Level 1 Beer training with LTE includes 6 hours of classroom lessons, taught by certified trainers, and about 4 hours of personal study. The course takes place over a 1-day session, and concludes with your WSET exam. A booklet will be given to you the same day, in which you will find the essential points covered during the training, as well as tasting grids and self-assessment exercises. The personal work of reading your manual in English is estimated at 3 hours. Your LTE English test is taken online and must be completed within two months of the end of your training.
Assessments and certificates
Completion of all three components of the LTE 4 Skills certification is mandatory within 30 days following the end of the training. By registering, you commit to completing all four parts of the assessment: Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing (2.5-hour test).
Access conditions and prerequisites
You must be 18 years old on the day of the wine training. Registrations close 2 days before the start date of the session or as soon as the maximum capacity of the session is reached. There is no preparation required for this training. Each training session accommodates 14 participants maximum. A B2-C2 level in English is recommended to follow our English training courses / FULL ENGLISH All our WSET wine training courses are open to people with disabilities.
