WSET 3 in wine in English in Paris with CLOE certification

The WSET level 3 Award in wine with CLOE certification is designed for professionals who already work in the world of wine, but also for serious amateurs who wish to deepen their wine and wine knowledge and their mastery of specific vocabulary in English. This program is also aimed at people who wish to undertake a professional transition to the wine sector.

Module 1 • The key factors involved in wine production: terroir, viticulture, vinification, aging and bottling • How these factors influence the main characteristics of the main still wines, sparkling wines and fortified wines of the world. • How to use your knowledge to present the style and quality of a wine. Module 2 • How to taste wine, describe its characteristics and evaluate its quality, according to the WSET Systematic Approach to Wine Tasting® (level 3) The training is designed to develop your oral and written language skills, including: Identify and use vocabulary adapted to the context Use the main grammatical structures necessary to construct coherent sentences of varying complexity Understand a short text and extract its overall meaning and specific details Understand a statement, instructions or questions from an interlocutor Communicate in a socio-professional, professional or activity-specific situation using appropriate expressions Hold a discussion on a professional topic

The WSET 3 wine training with CLOE includes 30 hours of classroom lessons, taught by certified trainers, and 60 hours of personal work. The course takes place over two weeks. It consists of a first 3-day session, followed by a break dedicated to practice and preparation for the CLOE exam and test. The second 3-day sends with your WSET exam. Your WSET teaching materials will be given to you when you register, to allow you to prepare for your session. You will find the essential points covered during the training, as well as tasting grids and self-assessment exercises. We recommend a minimum of 60 hours of personal work in preparation for your training. Your CLOE test in English specializing in wines and spirits takes place online and must be taken within two months of the end of your training.

CLOE test: Taking the CLOE Certification is mandatory at the end of the training. It lasts a total of one hour online. By registering, you agree to complete both parts of the assessment: First part (online with asynchronous monitoring): You will answer an adaptive questionnaire of 50 questions aimed at measuring your ability to: Identify and use common or professional vocabulary adapted to the context, Master the main grammatical structures necessary to construct coherent sentences of varying complexity, Identify and use expressions from everyday or professional life, Understand a short text and extract its overall meaning and specific details. Understand a statement, instructions or questions from a speaker speaking the target language. Second part (oral interview by videoconference): By appointment, this assessment includes a dialogue, one or more professional scenarios, and a discussion around a professional theme or specific to your field of activity. This interview measures your ability to: Use current or professional vocabulary adapted to the communication situation, Master the main grammatical structures necessary to construct coherent sentences of varying complexity, Communicate naturally orally, Make yourself understood with clear pronunciation, Develop interaction and dialogue. Obtaining the certificate: To obtain the certificate, level A2 is required, but a higher objective can be set depending on your professional project. WSET Exam: You will be assessed on your knowledge during a closed book test. To complete module 1, you will have to answer 50 multiple choice questions, as well as four short written questions. To validate module 2, you will be subjected to a blind tasting test of two wines, during which you will be asked to precisely describe a wine and analyze its quality. To obtain your WSET Level 3 certificate in wine, you will need to correctly answer 55% of the questions for each module. The exam success rate at Weeno in 2023 is 98% for the tasting test and 78% for the theoretical test. If the certification is not validated, it is possible to take the exam again. The cost of a re-sit is 140 euros for the theory test and 140 euros for the practical test. It is possible to take only one test out of the two.

Having obtained the WSET 2 Award in Wines or being able to prove an equivalent level of knowledge is strongly suggested in order to succeed in this training. You must be 18 years old on the day of training. Registrations close 10 working days before the start date of the session or as soon as the maximum capacity of the session is reached. It is important to allocate 60 hours of personal work before starting the training. Each session accommodates 10 participants maximum.
