WSET 3 Wine in English in Paris – LTE Certification

The WSET level 3 Award in wine with LTE certification is designed for professionals who already work in the world of wine, but also for serious amateurs who wish to deepen their wine and wine knowledge and their mastery of specific vocabulary in English. This program is also aimed at people who wish to undertake a professional transition to the wine sector.

During this course you will: - Develop in-depth and precise knowledge of the natural and human factors that shape the diversity of wine styles around the world. - Gain a detailed understanding of the key characteristics of the world’s major wine regions. - Be able to clearly express, both orally and in writing, the cause-and-effect relationships between natural and human factors and wine styles. - Learn how to present, describe, and sell a wine to English-speaking clients. - Master the essential English vocabulary used by wine professionals: viticulture, winemaking, tasting and sales. - Gain confidence in speaking and writing to clients in English. - Learn how to explain labelling terms related to wines. - Describe a wine in English using the WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting. - The course is delivered 100% in English and is suitable for learners with a B2 to C2 level. This training is designed to develop your oral and written language skills, including: - Identifying and using vocabulary appropriate to professional contexts in the wine industry - Using key grammatical structures to build coherent sentences of varying complexity - Understanding short texts and identifying both general meaning and specific details - Understanding spoken statements, instructions, or questions from an interlocutor - Communicating in social-professional, professional, or industry-specific situations using appropriate expressions - Holding a conversation on a professional topic - Communicating naturally and enhancing oral interaction - Being understood through clear pronunciation

The WSET Level 3 Wine training with LTE includes 30 hours of classroom lessons, taught by certified trainers, and 60 hours of personal study. The course takes place over two weeks and consists of a first 3-day session, followed by a break dedicated to practice and preparation for the LTE test. The second 2-day session concludes with your WSET exam. Your WSET teaching materials will be provided upon registration to help you prepare in advance. They include key learning points covered in the course, tasting grids, and self-assessment exercises. We recommend a minimum of 60 hours of personal study to make the most of your training. You will also receive online access to the official WSET platform before your in-person course — the perfect way to boost your chances of passing the exam. Your LTE English test is taken online and must be completed within two months of the end of your training.

Completion of all three components of the LTE 4 Skills certification is mandatory within 30 days following the end of the training. By registering, you commit to completing all four parts of the assessment: Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing (2.5-hour test).

Having obtained the WSET 2 Award in Wine or being able to prove an equivalent level of knowledge is strongly suggested in order to succeed in this training. You must be 18 years old on the day of training. Registrations close 10 working days before the start date of the session or as soon as the maximum capacity of the session is reached. It is important to allocate 60 hours of personal work before starting the training. Each session accommodates 10 participants maximum.
