The WSET level 2 Award in Beer is designed for beginners, amateurs or professionals, wishing to acquire a solid foundation in tasting beers. You will be prepared to work in careers in the beer industry. This program is also aimed at people who wish to undertake a professional transition to the beer industry.

The WSET Level 2 beer training includes 30 hours of study, including 18 hours of classroom lessons, taught by certified trainers. Your educational materials will be given to you when you register, to allow you to prepare for your session and exam. You will find the essential points covered during the training, as well as tasting grids and self-assessment exercises. Personal preparation work is estimated at 12 hours.

Assessment Toggle FAQ

At the end of your session, you will be assessed on the knowledge acquired during a closed book test. You will need to answer 50 multiple choice questions in an hour. To get your WSET 2 certificate in beer, you will have to answer 55% of the questions correctly. The success rate for the exam by Weeno in 2023 is 100% (97% received their certification with Merit or Distinction). In the event that you fail the exam, it is possible to take it again. The cost of registration for a re-sit is 120 euros.
