WSET 3 Wine Online – LTE Certification

The WSET level 3 Award in wine with LTE certification is designed for professionals who already work in the world of wine, but also for serious amateurs who wish to deepen their wine and wine knowledge and their mastery of specific vocabulary in English. This program is also aimed at people who wish to undertake a professional transition to the wine sector.

During this course you will: - Develop in-depth and precise knowledge of the natural and human factors that shape the diversity of wine styles around the world. - Gain a detailed understanding of the key characteristics of the world’s major wine regions. - Be able to clearly express, both orally and in writing, the cause-and-effect relationships between natural and human factors and wine styles. - Learn how to present, describe, and sell a wine to English-speaking clients. - Master the essential English vocabulary used by wine professionals: viticulture, winemaking, tasting and sales. - Gain confidence in speaking and writing to clients in English. - Learn how to explain labelling terms related to wines. - Describe a wine in English using the WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting. - The course is delivered 100% in English and is suitable for learners with a B2 to C2 level. This training is designed to develop your oral and written language skills, including: - Identifying and using vocabulary appropriate to professional contexts in the wine industry - Using key grammatical structures to build coherent sentences of varying complexity - Understanding short texts and identifying both general meaning and specific details - Understanding spoken statements, instructions, or questions from an interlocutor - Communicating in social-professional, professional, or industry-specific situations using appropriate expressions - Holding a conversation on a professional topic - Communicating naturally and enhancing oral interaction - Being understood through clear pronunciation

The WSET Level 3 Wine training with LTE consists of 9 weeks of online learning. Your WSET teaching materials will be provided prior to the start of the course. These include an e-book, a tasting kit, tasting grids, and self-assessment exercises. We recommend a minimum of 60 hours of personal study in addition to the online course to make the most of your training. Your WSET exam must be taken in person (in Paris or Marseille), and consists of a 2-hour theory exam followed by a 30-minute blind tasting exam. For each session will we provide a 6-month calendar for exam dates, allowing you to choose the date that best fits your progress and personal study pace. Registrations close 10 working days before the start of each session. Your LTE English test is taken online and must be completed within two months after the end of your training. It is essential to complete your LTE English test before registering for the WSET exam.

Completion of all three components of the LTE 4 Skills certification is mandatory within 30 days following the end of the training. By registering, you commit to completing all four parts of the assessment: Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing (2.5-hour test).

Having obtained the WSET 2 Award in Wines or being able to prove an equivalent level of knowledge is strongly suggested in order to succeed in this training. You must be 18 years old on the day of training. Registrations close 10 working days before the start date of the session.
