Advanced level in Spirits Online – LTE Certification

The course is designed for seasoned professionals and experts aiming to refine their mastery of English in order to discuss spirits with precision and nuance during high-level presentations, tastings, and industry events. It prepares you to communicate confidently and persuasively in English across all aspects of the spirits business — from production and branding to global sales and education. This programme is also ideal for those seeking to advance or reposition their careers at an international level within the spirits and cocktail industry.

During this course you will: - Acquire in-depth and precise knowledge of major spirits and liqueurs from around the world, along with their production methods. - Learn how to present, describe, and sell a spirit to English-speaking clients. - Master the English vocabulary essential for professionals in the spirits industry. - Gain confidence in speaking and writing to clients in English. - Learn how to explain labelling terms related to spirits. - Describe a spirit in English using the Systematic Approach to Tasting. - The course is delivered 100% in English and is suitable for learners with a B2 to C2 level. This training is designed to develop your oral and written language skills, including: - Identifying and using vocabulary appropriate to professional contexts in the spirits industry - Using key grammatical structures to build coherent sentences of varying complexity - Understanding short texts and identifying both general meaning and specific details - Understanding spoken statements, instructions, or questions from an interlocutor - Communicating in social-professional, professional, or industry-specific situations using appropriate expressions - Holding a conversation on a professional topic - Communicating naturally and enhancing oral interaction - Being understood through clear pronunciation

The advanced level in spirits training with LTE consists of 9 weeks of online learning. Your teaching materials will be provided prior to the start of the course. These include an e-book, tasting grids, and self-assessment exercises. We recommend a minimum of 60 hours of personal study in addition to the online course to make the most of your training. Registrations close 10 working days before the start of each session. Your LTE English test is taken online and must be completed within two months after the end of your training. It is essential to complete your LTE English test before registering for the exam. By registering, the candidate undertakes to follow the training in its entirety.

Completion of all three components of the LTE 4 Skills certification is mandatory within 30 days following the end of the training. By registering, you commit to completing all four parts of the assessment: Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing (2.5-hour test). Within 30 days after course completion

Having followed our intermediate level in Spirits or being able to prove an equivalent level of knowledge is strongly suggested in order to succeed in this training. You must be 18 years old on the day of training. Registrations close 10 working days before the start date of the session. Designed to assess listening, reading, and writing skills, it is particularly well-suited for both professional and academic contexts. In France, the LTE is officially recognised by France Compétences, making it eligible for funding through the Compte Personnel de Formation (CPF). Internationally, the LTE is regulated by Ofqual in the United Kingdom and is recognised by public and private institutions in over 60 countries. Thanks to its flexibility (online testing with remote proctoring or at an approved test centre), quick results (within 2 working days), and global recognition, the LTE is a reliable and efficient solution to certify one’s English level. The test is valid for life.

Here’s how it works: You get full access to the official WSET online learning platform for 9 weeks. There are no live classes or fixed schedule — you can log in whenever suits you, and each week introduces a new topic through videos, exercises, quizzes and flashcards to help the content stick. You’ll also have access to an international forum moderated by your tutor, where you can interact with other students and ask questions along the way. You’ll also receive your ebook, so you can keep it and refer back to it whenever you need. Once you start, you have a full year of access to the platform, so you can revisit the content whenever you like, well beyond the 9-week programme. English test (LTE) As part of this programme, you’ll take the LTE English test online. It covers three papers — Listening & Reading, Speaking and Writing — for a total of 2h30, and these can be scheduled at different times to fit your availability. Once you’ve completed your English test, you have 6 months after finishing the course to sit your WSET exam. It must be taken in person, in Paris or Marseille. If you’re financing this programme through your CPF, please note that the WSET exam itself is not covered: it is payable separately, at a preferential rate of €100, once you’ve obtained your English certification.
