Objectives and program
During this course you will: - Acquire in-depth and precise knowledge of major spirits and liqueurs from around the world, along with their production methods. - Learn how to present, describe, and sell a spirit to English-speaking clients. - Master the English vocabulary essential for professionals in the spirits industry. - Gain confidence in speaking and writing to clients in English. - Learn how to explain labelling terms related to spirits. - Describe a spirit in English using the Systematic Approach to Tasting. - The course is delivered 100% in English and is suitable for learners with a B2 to C2 level. This training is designed to develop your oral and written language skills, including: - Identifying and using vocabulary appropriate to professional contexts in the spirits industry - Using key grammatical structures to build coherent sentences of varying complexity - Understanding short texts and identifying both general meaning and specific details - Understanding spoken statements, instructions, or questions from an interlocutor - Communicating in social-professional, professional, or industry-specific situations using appropriate expressions - Holding a conversation on a professional topic - Communicating naturally and enhancing oral interaction - Being understood through clear pronunciation
The structure of the course
The beginner and intermediate course in spirits with LTE consist of a total of 9 weeks (4 and 5 weeks respectively) of online learning. Your teaching materials will be provided prior to the start of each course. These include a study-book for beginner level, an e-book for the intermediate level, tasting kits for each course, tasting grids, and self-assessment exercises. For the intermediate level, we recommend a minimum of 12 hours of personal study in addition to the online course to make the most of your training. Registrations close 10 working days before the start of each session. Your LTE English test is taken online and must be completed within two months after the end of your training. It is essential to complete your LTE English test before registering for the exam.
Assessments and certificates
Completion of all three components of the LTE 4 Skills certification is mandatory within 30 days following the end of the training. By registering, you commit to completing all four parts of the assessment: Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing (2.5-hour test).
Access and prerequisites
You must be 18 years old on the day of training. Registrations close 10 working days before the start date of the session.
