The world of spirits is vast, fascinating, and constantly evolving.
Whether you are a seasoned industry professional or a passionate enthusiast ready to take things to the next level, the WSET Level 3 Award in Spirits is the program for you.

And here is some exciting news:
This advanced certification is now available in Paris and online through Weeno — a first for our academy and a unique opportunity for anyone eager to gain an internationally recognized and in-depth expertise in spirits.

Let’s dive into everything you need to know before enrolling.

1. What is the WSET Level 3 Award in Spirits?

The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) is a UK-based institution globally renowned for its high-quality training in wine, spirits, and sake.

The WSET 3 Spirits is an advanced qualification designed for individuals who want to deepen their technical, historical, sensory, and commercial knowledge of major spirit categories.

This program offers a significant step up from Level 2, blending rigorous theory with extensive tasting practice.

Building on the foundation laid in Level 2, this course gives you a comprehensive understanding of spirits production — from raw material selection to post-distillation processes.

By the end of the course, you will not only be able to identify and assess spirits blind, but also explain in detail the factors that shape their style and quality.

Learning outcomes include:

  • Tasting, analysing and evaluating spirits using a structured method
  • Understanding the key characteristics of major spirit types
  • Explaining production options and how they affect style and quality
  • Applying your knowledge confidently in industry settings
  • Advising customers, answering questions, and selecting spirits for a variety of contexts

In short, it is the perfect program for building real, professional-grade expertise in the world of spirits.
